Mother's Indelible Marks

Sunday is Mother's birthday. She is the wisest woman I know, and my respect and love for her is immense. The following article appeared in The Dallas Morning News on March 28, 1999, as Women's History Month came to an end.

Eleven years later, Mother continues making her mark on those around her. She's a steadfast source of strength in my life, and I'm proud to be her daughter.

Happy birthday, dear mother of mine. I love you more than life. ♦

I'm linking to Spiritual Sundays, where inspiration blooms.

  1. Good post Gayle. Your mother sound like a remarkable woman (and her daughters are a testimony to that - even though I don't know you and Dayle personally). Happy birthday to your Mom!

  2. I so agree with you Gayle. Your mother reminds me of my own mother in so many ways. She always thought of others before herself and was loved by everyone who knew her. I wish I was more like her. She left this life in 1999 at the age of 86. I miss her so much even now. You are blessed to have your mother with you still. I hope she has a very happy birthday.
    Hugs & blessings,
    Charlotte

  4. Your words of love and respect for your mother move me deeply. My own mother passed away when I was eleven. I agree with what my wife, Charlotte said about her mother. Your post will bless many of us by helping us to focus on the value of mothers. The article from the paper is wonderful!
