Simple Pleasure ~ A Juicy Orange

I know my simple pleasures often focus on food, but what can I say? Eating is one of life's greatest rewards. In fact (pardon me while I digress a bit), when I'm alone, saying grace over my food, it goes something like this:

"Thank you, dear God, for this food. For the money to buy it, the strength to cook it and the desire and ability to eat it."

I mean every word of that prayer.

Of course, some delicious rewards don't need cooking--like oranges. I love slirping on a sweet, juicy orange. Two napkins required.

Got a simple pleasure? Share it at my twin sister's weekly blog party: Simple Pleasures.

  2. Oranges are lovely, have you tried them sliced into quarters and then frozen, for hot summer days? Just like an orange ice block. :)

  3. Yes, oranges are lovely. As children we would pick them off the tree, cut a small round off of the top of the orange and eat the juice with a teaspoon. Oh, the juice was beautiful.

  12. That ranks up in the top tier good eats for me too. I probably shouldn't admit this (but you know I will...) I still like to stick the peels over my teeth and grin at my family, too.
